Individual lessons tailored to your needs and lifestyle are the most reliable way to learn the technique and experience moving in a different way. Lessons include some theory about basic principles.
Individual lessons are available four days and evenings a week and Saturday morning from my home in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Lessons are also available at John Honey Physiotherapy. A surcharge may apply if room charges are incurred.
Talk and Demonstration
‘Stay Young with the Alexander Technique’ - An introductory talk and demonstration of the technique (45 to 60mins). I am registered with the WI as one of their recommended speakers. I cover East and Mid-Cheshire.
Shared and Group Lessons
Shared lessons with a friend or small group enable you to share the experience with others in a supportive environment. You can learn from each other and you may observe changes in others which you may not be able to see in yourself. Contact me for further details.
Group lessons (maximum of six pupils) are held at intervals at John Honey Physiotherapy, Cumberland Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK10 1BP (opposite Sainsbury’s). Book a place directly by telephoning 01625 615762.
How many will I need? It is difficult to predict how many lessons an individual will require. It depends on your quality of movement at the outset and how accomplished you wish to be. Old habits take time to change so you should consider a course of six to ten lessons. Even after your course has finished if you continue to apply the Technique in your daily life you will continue to improve. You will be taught the active rest procedure, which is a very effective way to help yourself.
